How can you spot wind damage to your roof? Let us help! Many people think that just because they cant see noticeable <a href=\"https:\/\/gellingsroofing.net\/lp-overview\">damage <\/a>to their roof, that there isn&#8217;t any. Most wind damage isn&#8217;t visible from the ground, making it hard to spot by the untrained eye. We always advise you seek professional help when it comes to identifying damage to your roof.  However, we hope to aid you in spotting wind damage on your roof so your aren&#8217;t in the dark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How To Spot Wind Damage On Your Roof<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Missing Shingles <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The most obvious way to spot wind damage is missing shingles. If you notice missing shingles, this is a pretty tell-tale sign that there is damage to your roof. As easy as this should be to spot, shingles will sometimes fall off in very hard to see areas. It may take getting up on your roof to be able to spot even a missing shingle. From here on out, the signs are a lot less obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-rounded\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/gellingsroofing.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2.png\" alt=\"Image showing two missing shingles from roof due to wind damage \" class=\"wp-image-229\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pulled Fastener<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Another sign of a damaged roof is a pulled  fastener. A pulled fastener is either a staple or nail meant to hold the shingle in place. Eventually pull the shingle free, rendering the seal useless. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-rounded\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/gellingsroofing.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1.png\" alt=\"A man showing how a shingle is no linger attached fully to the roof, indicating that its seal is broken \" class=\"wp-image-228\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creased Shingles <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the previous two signs, creased shingles aren&#8217;t visible from the ground. To see this damage, you must be on the roof to identify them. After a fastener is pulled and seal broken, the wind will warp, and bend shingles until they break. Before the shingles break, you will notice creases running all through them.
